All about the new 15-inch MacBook Air

Apple’s WWDC last week. Even so, both the 13-inch and 15-inch versions have a featherweight compared to the MacBook Pro, since the larger the screen, the thicker the construction.

If we put the focus on sound, the 15-inch model offers an improvement over its predecessor model, as it has six speakers compared to the four of the 13-inch model, as well as a 10-core GPU, hardware that becomes another of the distinctive codes of this new device.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES

Apple has decided to keep the MacBook Air fanless, but with the same M2 chip it launched in 2022. According to Evan Buyze, Apple’s director of product marketing, the fanless design of the laptop was a nice addition. “The M2 chip is really an amazing chip that does everything and enables experiences that no other laptop can do, and it just so happens to be fanless,” he told Highsnobiety.

In keeping with its philosophy of “democratizing” the MacBook Air, the 15-inch model is presented as a relatively “affordable” laptop with which to “create value with incredible performance in a thin and light fanless design that’s built to last,” Buyze says.

The new 15-inch MacBook Air M2 went on sale yesterday starting at $1,299, while the 13-inch M2 remains at $1,099.
