The main protagonists of the international fashion scene, big names, emerging brands, special projects, international collaborations, debuts and presentations: here are all the news from the 105th edition of Pitti Uomo, the most important trade fair in the men’s fashion sector.

Pitti Uomo 105, once again, is a pre-eminent showcase for the upcoming Autumn/Winter collections, as well as a place that reflects the latest trends, creative concepts and new demands of our society. The number of exhibitors continues to grow, in January, Pitti Uomo 2024 will present the collections of 835 brands, with a significant percentage of brands coming from abroad (43%).

Time is linked to fashion and also to Pitti. The theme of F/W Pitti Uomo is inspired by the concept of TIME. Pitti Uomo is very much like a specific time frame: it arrives punctually each season to propose, present, compare, anticipate, change? In the same way, fashion reflects on time, accelerating the collections in a sequence of capsules, stabilising in a timeless atmosphere, and defining the silent luxury of the garments that remain.

The exhibition spaces in the Fortezza da Basso will host the multifaceted world of Pitti Uomo. The five sections – Fantastic Classic, Futuro Maschile, Dynamic Attitude, Superstyling and I Go Out – will present the Autumn/Winter 2024-2025 collections: from classic to casual, passing through the world of research. The presence of special areas dedicated to Pets and Vintage has also been confirmed.

Pitti Uomo 105 Special Events

Guest Designer: Luca Magliano – Founder and Creative Director of Magliano. The Bologna-born designer, born in 1987, will star in a special event in Florence, a runway show scheduled for Wednesday 10 January. Magliano, who made his Pitti Uomo debut in 2018, imbues the fundamental elements of menswear with a dark, casual and scruffy attitude to imbue it with a natural, genderless code. The design is minimalist yet chaotic, the style is quintessentially Italian.

Guest Designer: Steven Stokey-Daley – Founder and Creative Director of S.S. Daley. The Liverpool designer will bring his “made in Britain” collection to Florence in a show staged in his signature style. Despite his youth, Steven’s project is characterised by maturity, a fun and eccentric reinterpretation of British heritage, a disregard for gender stereotypes and a commitment to sustainability.

Designer Showcase: Todd Snyder. Considered by industry experts to be one of the most influential American menswear designers of his generation, Todd Snyder will present the new collection in Florence, at the Stazione Leopolda, with a fashion show in his signature style.

Among the special projects presented internationally at Pitti Uomo, GUESS JEANS, the iconic denim brand, chooses Pitti Uomo to globally launch the new GUESS JEANS line by Nicolai Marciano and a new marketing philosophy. A revolutionary and innovative project based on sustainability and attention to the future will be launched through a special installation at the Fortezza da Basso and an exhibition event at the Teatro Del Maggio.

TOD’S and AUTOMOBILI LAMBORGHINI present their first Tod’s for Automobili Lamborghini collection.

ACHILLES ION GABRIEL Debut at Pitti Uomo 105. In an exclusive preview at Pitti Uomo, a young Finnish-born designer who has already won prestigious awards, will present the debut collection of his eponymous label, Achilles Ion Gabriel. An immersive, gender-neutral project of ready-to-wear garments, footwear and accessories.

VELVET MY LOVE by Corinna and Stefano Chiassai Father and daughter, both designers, present a project-installation at the Fortezza da Basso – together with a magnificent book – entirely dedicated to velvet, an ancient fabric that has been transformed over the centuries, acquiring ever greater performance thanks to new processes.

International collaborations at Fortezza da Basso

neudeutsch: A new project curated by Julian Daynov dedicated to the new wave of design ‘made in Germany’, which will present a selection of 17 creatives in the Sala delle Nazioni (see attached press release).

SCANDINAVIAN MANIFESTO: a new selection of brands, the result of a collaboration between Pitti Uomo and Ciff x Revolver Copenhagen, the key trade fair platform for Scandinavian fashion brands. At the Costruzioni Lorenesi show.

JQUALITY FACTORY BRAND PROJECT, the project that brings together 12 certified Japanese JQUALITY manufacturers returns to Pitti Uomo. Once again at this edition, the excellence of Japanese craftsmanship will be presented in collaboration with Hirofumi Kurino (HUMANOS) and Italian designer Aldo Maria Camillo.

detroitissimi: Made in Detroit creativity. Following its debut at the last edition, the special project Detroitissimi grows and will bring to Costruzioni Lorenesi a collective of 8 brands based in Detroit, Michigan, an important centre of clothing and accessories manufacturing. The protagonist brands are: B. May Bags, Boswell Millinery, Detroit Denim Co, Deviate, High’s Adventure Gear, K. Walker Collective, Modern Athlete, Stormy Kromer.

Highlights at Pitti Uomo 105

WOOLRICH will return to Florence presenting the new collection and new projects during Pitti Uomo at the Fortezza.

FAY ARCHIVE will participate for the first time at Pitti Uomo with its avant-garde workwear and outdoor attitude. In the Polveriera.

LYLE & SCOTT will celebrate its 150th anniversary in a separate space at the Costruzioni Lorenesi.

WP LAVORI IN CORSO, always on the lookout for new ideas and authentic brands, is taking part in Pitti Uomo with three brands: Barbour, Filson and Blundstone.

VITALE BARBERIS CANONICO, a collaboration with Caruso for a capsule collection of 10 jackets, made for the 360th anniversary of the brand.

G-STAR RAW denim meets design in the brand’s new project with Marteen Baas: Ecoalf, Drykorn, Roy Rogers, Snowpeak, Borsalino, Bikkembergs, Replumé.
