ACRONYM’s Hugh puts an end to rumors of his creative partnership with Chitose Abe, confirming their upcoming joint collection via Instagram. “The sacai ACRONYM collection will launch in January 2022,” he unveiled in the caption of the leaked images of the first looks from the unisex range.
“Founder and designer Chitose Abe‘s collection is a study in sealing two seemingly disparate notions to create a new form, bringing together characteristics born of different, sometimes opposing, origins.”
The spirit of union is visually manifested in this series accentuated by ACRONYM‘s technical innovation, in conceptual synchrony with the fabrics, androgynous aesthetics, and asymmetrical shapes of the Tokyo-based brand.
The collaboration also marks ACRONYM’s debut in the world of wearables, as well as a return to reflecting its hypnotic fusion of style and technology through functional garments. To see the full collection we will have to wait until January 2022.
