For the launch of the new Versace Icons collection, the fashion house decided to feature its two brand ambassadors, long-time Versace veteran Anne Hathaway and recent addition Kilian Murphy. The ad, which is inspired by the racy men’s campaigns Versace launched in the 1990s, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot. The couple wear pieces from Versace Icon, a line focused on the essentials: creative, exquisitely crafted designs that meet real, everyday needs. Both men’s and women’s garments are tailored according to the canons of tailoring.
“I’ve met so many Versace women who are powerful, emotionally available, ambitious, substantial, funny, fierce, loving, unique, sexy, intelligent, talented, generous, very much like Donatella. I have observed that a Versace woman is herself. I am so excited and honoured to be considered a Versace Woman,” confirms Anne, “Collaborating with Donatella – from sharing image references to selecting Fountains D.C.’s music for the video – resulted in a campaign that reflects who I am,” adds Kilian.
Among the women’s garments we highlight the short raglan jacket for women with couture rounded shoulders and the matching flared skirt with the Medusa ’95 motif at the waist. The collection also includes dresses that are as functional and feminine for daytime as they are daring and refined for evening wear. The house’s iconic designs persist in a full selection of bags and shoes, especially in the Medusa ’95 bag line, which features the brand’s iconic motif as a belted detail on all structured bag designs.
The men’s collection features jackets with wide or rounded shoulder lapels that incorporate the Medusa Biggie metal detail, and single-breasted jackets in lighter summer wool. Emblematic details highlight the everyday, such as the Barocco patterned silk insert on the back of the trench coat. Leather is also representative of the Maison, like the Medusa or the Barocco print, and is featured on coats, blazers, biker jackets, shirts, dresses and trousers.
