Now, the acclaimed Adele Lim is joining the project as director, and although development of the film has been underway since 2022, Hathaway has kept it a mystery until she shared it on her social media this weekend.
In a nostalgia-filled video, Hathaway delights us by holding up three fingers, an unmistakable nod to the long-awaited third instalment. Iconic scenes from the previous films are interwoven, showing us unforgettable moments. The message accompanying the video: ‘Miracles happen. Back to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures. The fairytale continues.’
Adele Lim said, ‘As a die-hard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I am beyond thrilled to be part of this third iteration of such a beloved franchise. We look forward to celebrating the feminine strength, joy and mentorship that have defined these stories.’
