Apple is preparing to unveil the M2 chip that will take over from the first internal M1 chip for upcoming MacBook and iMac models.

The Apple M2 chip will be offered in Apple’s alternatives, a 13-inch MacBook Pro that will replace the 2020 model with the Intel chip, as well as a Mac mini, a 24-inch iMac and also a MacBook Air that may not appear until the final quarter.

Apple is also expected to launch new iMac Pros with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that will follow in the footsteps of the current 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, but it doesn’t stop there, and Apple’s most powerful chips will also end up in the new Mac Pros.

The M2 Pro and M2 Max versions of the chip won’t arrive until 2023 as Bloomberg reveals. Among other new features, there will be further improvements to the GPU, which will go up to 10 graphics cores from the 7/8 of the M1 chip that began the transition to ARM architecture.
