According to Power On, the always-connected newsletter from Mark Gurman via Bloomberg, 2027 is shaping up to be the year Apple drops the mic with a product revival that could redefine the aesthetics and functionality of its flagship devices.
The crown jewel? An all-glass iPhone, with no cutouts and a curved screen. We’re talking a concept that goes beyond edge-to-edge: no notches, no interruptions, and a wraparound architecture that looks like something out of a science fiction movie. Although the Cupertino firm already flirted with glass on the iPhone X, the iPhone 20 could be the definitive step toward technological invisibility—with Face ID and cameras hidden under the panel.
Meanwhile, Samsung has been toying with curved displays for a while, but Apple, true to its narrative of perfection, could be betting on something more aggressive: a sideless design, based on patents dating back to 2013 that depict a device wrapped in a single curved glass surface.
And this is just the beginning.
2027 would also mark the debut of Apple’s first foldable iPhone—a move expected, but still shrouded in mystery—and smart glasses that could change the rules of the game, launching a direct challenge to Meta and its alliance with Ray-Ban. The core of this new era: Apple Intelligence, the native AI that will live not only in these glasses but also in AirPods, accompanied by cameras to capture context and understand the user’s environment in real time.
It may be two years away, but the countdown to the 20th anniversary of the iPhone has already begun. The future, according to Apple, will be crystal clear, curved, and smarter than ever.
Stay tuned.
