Nike and Aritzia join forces for the first time to reinterpret an iconic silhouette from the 1970s. The result is the LD-1000 “Fauna Brown”, a model that combines Nike’s technical heritage with the understated elegance that defines the Canadian brand. A drop that proves well-executed minimalism never goes out of style.
The LD-1000 originally debuted in 1977 as a long-distance running shoe. Its flared heel made it instantly recognisable. In this collaboration, the original structure is maintained, but the materials are updated. The mesh and nylon of the classic shoe are replaced with a full “Fauna Brown” leather construction, adding texture and sophistication.
This new design opts for a tonal, minimalist finish. The lateral Swoosh appears in a muted shade that blends with the brown base. A mini Swoosh on the toe replaces the classic logo, enhancing the clean visual effect. Details such as exposed stitching and a deconstructed tongue reference the model’s running DNA, while the gum sole rounds off the look with a retro nod.
Aritzia teased a symbolic detail on their social media, a four-leaf clover charm hanging from the laces. A subtle, yet meaningful touch that sets this restrained silhouette apart.
The Aritzia x Nike LD-1000 “Fauna Brown” will be available from 30 October 2025 through Aritzia, Nike, and selected retailers, priced at 125 USD.
