ARKET and Evelina Kroon launch a solidarity blanket in support of UNHCR

With the arrival of the festive season, ARKET once again shows how design can generate real social impact. The Nordic lifestyle brand has teamed up once more with Swedish artist Evelina Kroon in a collaboration aimed at supporting UNHCR’s emergency operations.

The connection between ARKET and Kroon is not new. In fact, the duo collaborated in 2022 on a collection of checked blankets produced with the historic Swedish mill Klippan. Now, for the Autumn/Winter 2025 season, the artist presents an exclusive design in shades of blue, white and red.

Beyond its visual language, the piece stands out for its direct impact: for every blanket sold, ARKET will donate two UNHCR thermal blankets, an essential resource for refugees and displaced families.

“In times of crisis, the simplest objects can make a huge difference,” explains Åsa Widell, UNHCR’s National Director for Sweden. Thermal blankets are vital for surviving extreme conditions and therefore represent immediate and universal support.

Warmth and solidarity

For Kroon, the blanket is an everyday symbol associated with home and well-being. “It’s something we all have at home, and it represents comfort and warmth,” she says. Through this collaboration, the object takes on a deeper meaning, acting both as a reminder of distant realities and as a gesture of solidarity from within our own spaces.

A design aligned with UNHCR’s mission

The visual proposal combines UNHCR’s official blue with an earthy white inspired by satellite images of the landscapes where the organisation works. The final touch is a soft red tone, intended to evoke warmth, compassion and welcome.

From ARKET, Ella Soccorsi, Director of Design and Creativity, highlights the authenticity of the project: “It’s a beautiful product with a very genuine intention behind it.” She also emphasises Kroon’s commitment to the refugee cause, visible in years of voluntary work and fundraising efforts. The brand hopes this collaboration will strengthen its ongoing support for UNHCR and generate meaningful contributions.

Finally, each purchase will result in the donation of two thermal blankets directly to UNHCR’s emergency operations, providing warmth and protection to those forced to flee their homes.

The limited-edition ARKET x Evelina Kroon for UNHCR blanket will be available in ARKET stores and on arket.com from 4 December 2025.
