After 26 years of adventures and more than 1,200 episodes, the story of Ash and Pikachu is coming to an end. Pokémon will take a new turn with a different protagonist and leaving behind the series as we know it.
One of Pokémon’s biggest moments was the battle between Ash and Lionel that made him the world champion after 26 years. After winning the title, many of us wondered what would become of him, and finally The Pokémon Company has revealed what many of us feared.
After so many years of adventures, battles and characters that have paraded through the more than 1,200 episodes that have aired to date, Ash and Pikachu will say goodbye to the anime series. A new batch of episodes will premiere on 13 January, which will mark Ash Ketchum’s final journey to becoming a Pokémon Master.
All this will not be the end of Pokémon, as another season will premiere in April 2023, featuring two new protagonists, Riko and Roy, who will be accompanied by the initial Pokémon from the Paldea region of Pokémon Scarlet and Purple. It will certainly work out, so time will tell how this change feels.
