ASICS invites Florènce Tetier back to its Crafts For Minds initiative

ASICS continues to expand its Crafts For Minds initiative, inviting for the second time the talented Florence Tétier, who brings her distinctive stamp on the brand’s Gel-Kayano™ 14, Gel-Nimbus™ 9, & Gel-Nimbus™ 10.1 models. In total, 33 unique pairs have been created, which will be available exclusively at Dover Street Market Paris this Saturday, December 7. Proceeds from this collection will be donated entirely to support L’École des Petites Ruches, a school with an out-of-the-ordinary educational approach.

Florence Tétier, co-founder of Novembre Magazine and former creative director of Jean Paul Gaultier, is known for her focus on artisanal design and her commitment to sustainability through her brand Tétier Bijoux. Her philosophy is based on reusing obsolete objects and recycled materials to give them a new life. Each piece created by Florence is unique, handmade in Paris and in limited productions, reflecting her rejection of mass production and her preference for customized processes.

In this collaboration, Tétier precisely brings her vision to the world of ASICS, selecting models that are part of her own closet, from which she does not alter the base design. What he does, quite simply, is add handmade accessories made from repurposed materials such as recycled plastics and other beads. These are removable, with the aim of offering, to whoever gets one of the 33 pairs, the possibility of customizing their own sneakers. Each design includes two unique charms, one for each shoe.

One of the highlights of this edition was the active participation of children and students from l’École des Petites Ruches in the creative process. With the guidance of their educators, the students explored concepts such as upcycling, waste management and creative transformation. They were tasked with collecting discarded materials from their homes to turn them into unique beads, a process led by resin artist Rezine, an expert in transforming recycled materials into handcrafted creations. That is precisely why the proceeds from this collection will go to these children.

Dover Street Market Paris will be the only point of sale of the collaboration between Asics and Tétier, and it will be on December 7 the day on which you can purchase any of the 33 pairs available.

ASICS and A.P.C. reaffirm their partnership.
