Audemars Piguet will offer a replacement, repair or refund service of up to €67,000 in the event that one of its watches is stolen from its customers.
This decision by the prestigious Maison also marks the first milestone in the luxury watchmaking world as far as this type of service is concerned. The growing number of luxury watch thefts has led to a decline in watch sales. In response to this, AP’s current CEO, François-Henry Bennahmias, confirms that he will “guarantee to replace, reimburse or repair any stolen or damaged watch purchased in 2022 or 2023 for two years”.
Thus, those who have purchased an AP watch between 2022 and 2023 will be able to register for this service. Applicants must provide proof of purchase and ownership, along with a photo and serial number of their watch. This programme will run until the end of 2024 and will naturally exclude second-hand and vintage pieces.
Gérald Genta will be revived in the Louis Vuitton Haute Horlogerie workshop.
