Bad Bunny and adidas Originals cross paths again – and this time, the destination has very clear coordinates: Puerto Rico. The artist and the brand of the three bands sign a new installment of their creative alliance with the Gazelle City Series, a capsule full of identity, landscape and island rhythm. Benito turns each pair into a symbol of his homeland – and he does it without clichés, opting for a design that breathes authenticity.
The series consists of three colourways, each inspired by an iconic corner of the island. ‘El Yunque’ displays a damp and mysterious green palette that refers to the jungle that covers the mountains; “Santurce” radiates energy with its electric orange, paying homage to the artistic effervescence of San Juan’s most creative neighbourhood; while ‘Cabo Rojo’ shines with a saline pink, reflecting the magical and surreal waters of the salt flats in the southwest.
And if you’re wondering which one to get: El Yunque and Santurce will be available only in Puerto Rico, a thoughtful decision to preserve the local connection and essence of the tribute. The rest of the world will have to wait for the Cabo Rojo global drop, which will arrive later this year via adidas.com.
The collaboration between Bad Bunny and adidas goes one step further with the silhouette: Ballerina.
