An extensive exhibition that shows the history and codes of the fashion house from the point of view of the purest art.
On 21 and 22 September, the historic Laennec building at 40 rue de Sèvres in Paris will host this special event as part of the European Heritage Days 2024. In it, Balenciaga invites the public to discover up close a series of masterful designs that insatiably demonstrate his technical excellence and creative richness.
Divided into six themes: the collar, the sleeve, the waist, the colour black, and the dialogues between Monsieur Balenciaga and Demna, the exhibition places special emphasis on the different components that make up the structure of the house, its materiality and its social significance.
The garments on display are drawn from Balenciaga‘s extensive archive, ranging from Cristóbal Balenciaga‘s early works and influential pieces from the turn of the century to today’s revolutionary ready-to-wear and haute couture collections designed by Demna.
In addition, a unique selection of works by six contemporary artists from the Pinault Collection will be on display.
