The limited edition collection includes sweatshirts and T-shirts with graphic designs highlighting the discography of the British rock, electro and trip-hop group Archive.
The distinctive feature of this collaboration is the integration of NFC chips in the garments. Sewn into the label with the name “Balenciaga Music | Archive,” these chips allow users to access exclusive Archive content by scanning them with their cell phones. “Patterns” is an exclusive 8.5-minute musical composition created by Archive exclusively for Balenciaga, and is one of those that can be heard.
Priced at €990, €695 and €595, the garments are available in black or white and can be purchased on Balenciaga’s website and in select stores around the world.
This initiative falls under Balenciaga’s broader project called “Balenciaga Music,” launched in 2020, which allows customers to explore the musical influence behind the brand’s collections, giving access to playlists curated by Demna and various collaborating artists, such as Jay-Jay Johanson, Pink Martini and Aya Nakamura. The fashion house also continues its global expansion with recent boutique openings in strategic locations such as Taipei, Mexico and India.
On the other hand, art, history and fashion converge in Ferragamo’s latest Christmas campaign.
