The new Stade Rennais F.C. uniform designed by Balenciaga is inspired by the pride flag.
The fashion house debuts as the official apparel of a Ligue 1 team after designing the new kit for Stade Rennais F.C. In keeping with its commitment to combat LGTBIQ+ hatred, Balenciaga is inspired by the colors of the Pride flag with the brand’s logo above each player’s name and number.
The Stade Rennais team wore the new uniform at Roazhon Park as part of a wider French Football League campaign. Balenciaga shared the jersey design on its Instagram stories with the hashtags #STOPHOMOPHOBIA, #STOPTRANSPHOBIA and #STOPBIPHOBIA.
