Balenciaga once again challenges the limits of functionality and style with its new 2025 skiwear collection, a proposal that reinterprets the alpine imagery from an urban and technological perspective. Designed to withstand extreme temperatures while conquering the asphalt, the collection fuses the Maison’s aesthetic heritage with the most advanced technical innovation.
Photographed and directed by Aidan Zamiri, the campaign deliberately moves away from mountain clichés to place the action in an everyday landscape, where après-ski attitude coexists with the speed of the city. Instead of snowy peaks, the backdrop is icy streets, fogged-up shop windows and cold lights. The result is a visual narrative that translates the sporting spirit into a futuristic aesthetic of almost mechanical precision.
Thermoregulating outerwear, aerodynamic silhouettes and technical layers with integrated technology take centre stage in this new alpine language. Balenciaga offers high-necked parkas, nylon or fleece jackets, reversible padded jackets and pieces designed with high-performance materials: water-repellent inner membranes, Aquazip® technology, waterproof fabrics and the Recco® rescue system. Each garment is a piece of wearable engineering.
The line is developed in collaboration with Italian manufacturers specialising in snow equipment, resulting in a selection of limited edition mirror-effect snowboards and skis, impact-absorbing helmets, ultra-lightweight poles and black Mask goggles with silver glitter.
The Balenciaga universe is completed with footwear and accessories that expand the concept of technical luxury: oversized boots and platform mules from the Dumbo and Alaska lines reinterpreted in split calfskin or quilted nylon; the Explorer backpack and Rodeo and Le City bags reappear in calfskin with sheepskin lining or suede with fleece interior, consolidating the brand’s hybrid DNA.
