Designer Olivier Rousteing communicated the news in an Instagram post.
“This morning I woke up with a smile on my face, starting fittings for my next show at 9 a.m. and this is what happened…. 50 pieces of Balmain stolen. Our delivery was hijacked. They stole [the truck]. Thank God, the driver is safe.”
He announced that the fashion show is not being canceled or postponed, but is still on for September 27, near the Eiffel Tower. He added: “A lot of people have worked very hard to make this collection a reality. We are redoing everything, but this is disrespectful.” “We will work more, days and nights, our suppliers will work days and nights as well…. So many workers, suppliers, my team and me. Please be careful, this is the world we live in. I love you, my Balmain team, and we will not give up,” he ended. Some friends and colleagues such as Simon Porte Jacquemus or Donatella Versace showed their support for Olivier and Balmain in the comments.
