Bang & Olufsen celebrates 100 years with the Centennial Collection

Bang & Olufsen commemorates a century of innovation and design with the Centennial Collection, a series of special editions that reimagine three of its most iconic products: the Beoplay H100, Beosound A5, and Beosound A9 5th generation. Inspired by its Scandinavian heritage, the collection combines clean lines with the sophistication of contemporary craftsmanship, reflecting a legacy that has shaped the history of high-end audio.

According to Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen, “Since our founding in 1925, timeless design has been at the heart of everything we create. The Centennial Collection pays tribute to our past, celebrates our present, and looks towards the future.”

Each piece traces the brand’s most emblematic decades. From the checked patterns of classic radios to the bold colours of the 1970s — Century Red, Chestnut Brown, and Century Blue — every detail evokes the spirit of its era. Moreover, brushed aluminium and leather finishes reflect both technical precision and aesthetic sophistication. All pieces feature the commemorative B&O Est. 1925 logo, honouring the founders, Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen, and their commitment to “create only the best.”

Beoplay H100 Century Brown

The H100 delivers an immersive sound experience optimised for Dolby Atmos, with titanium drivers and advanced noise cancellation. The headband combines Century Red leather with Chestnut Brown ear cushions, while Century Blue accents provide contrast. Additionally, the crystal disc in natural silver finish bears the commemorative logo, and a matching leather case completes a design that blends tradition with modernity.

Beosound A5 Century Weave

This portable speaker stands out for its elegance and power. The Centennial edition revisits the iconic 1950s checked grilles using a paper raffia weave in beige and chestnut brown. The brushed aluminium frame, Century Red leather strap, and Century Blue cable further balance nostalgia with modernity.

Beosound A9 Century Blue

The iconic minimalist speaker fuses sculptural design with expansive sound. The Centennial edition features Kvadrat Centennial Cadence fabric in Century Blue and Chestnut Brown, along with a brushed aluminium ring and legs, evoking the 1980s aesthetic. Commemorative engravings and Century Blue details reinforce the union of tradition and innovation.

Available from today, 22 October, in selected Bang & Olufsen stores and at bang-olufsen.com, the Centennial Collection honours the brand’s legacy and its enduring design vision. Prices range from €1,500 to €4,500.
