BAPE® celebrates one of the key moments in its history with the relaunch of one of its most iconic garments, the Leather Classic Down Jacket. Since its debut in 2000, this jacket has defined a new way of understanding luxury in streetwear. Now, to mark its twenty-fifth anniversary, the brand is presenting a very limited edition and also reviving the classic model in new colours.
A limited edition designed for collectors
To mark this celebration, BAPE® introduces the 25th Edition, a version that respects the original design and has been produced in Japan. The garment uses selected sheepskin leather and Kawada Down filling, known for its lightness and great ability to retain heat. Only 50 units exist worldwide, making it a collector’s item.
The design retains the elegant aesthetic of the 2000 launch. The brown leather is designed to develop a unique patina with use. In addition, the gold buttons and navy jacquard interior of BAPE® CAMO provide a balance between tradition and craftsmanship.
In addition to the limited edition, BAPE® is relaunching the jacket in three standard colours, brown, black and purple. Each version is made from premium sheep leather, which maintains the soft texture and characteristic volume of the model. The front closure uses a double zip and button structure. This improves wind protection without altering the design.
A constant symbol in streetwear culture
With this launch, the brand reaffirms the role of the Leather Classic Down Jacket within its archive. This piece transcends passing trends and represents the idea of “luxury for the street” that BAPE® brought to the forefront of urban culture in the 2000s.
The Leather Classic Down Jacket will be released soon in selected BAPE® stores and on its website. The expected price is approximately £1,200.
