Barcelona Gallery Weekend celebrates its 10th anniversary with a programme of exhibitions in 27 art galleries, free activities for all audiences and guided tours over two weekends. From 19 to 22 September, Barcelona Gallery Weekend celebrates its 10th anniversary. For this very special edition, 27 contemporary and modern art galleries from Barcelona and L’Hospitalet de Llobregat will participate, showing the work of more than 30 national and international artists.
Organised by the association ArtBarcelona. Galeries, Barcelona Gallery Weekend is the annual cultural event that kicks off the city’s art season, and celebrates for four days the ongoing work of galleries as spaces that generate culture and knowledge, places of experimentation and discovery that allow for the connection and encounter between artists, collectors, the public and institutions.
All exhibitions, free and open to the public, will open simultaneously on Thursday 19 September: from 12 noon for the professional public, and from 6 pm for the general public. During the weekend, regular opening hours will be from 12 pm to 8 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday.

Parallel activities
The exhibition programme of Barcelona Gallery Weekend will be accompanied by an extensive agenda of complementary activities of different formats in the same galleries, a free programme open to everyone. The meetings, talks, performances, presentations and guided tours by artists, gallery owners and curators will give you the opportunity to get to know the artists and gallery owners better and to delve deeper into the themes covered in the exhibitions. Check out the full agenda of activities here.
ARCO GalleryWalks guided tours
As with every edition, Barcelona Gallery Weekend, in collaboration with the ARCO Foundation, offers free guided tours to the participating galleries: 14 itineraries, accompanied by professionals from the local context, in which artists and gallery owners will present their exhibitions first-hand.
As a novelty, the tours extend this year to the following weekend, spread between Sunday 22 September and Saturday 28 September, and will end with a space for dialogue where you can share impressions accompanied by a vermouth courtesy of BCN Mut. Free activity with limited capacity. Information and reservations here.

The walk of…
Seven curators from the Barcelona context propose, from their particular perspectives, seven itineraries for visiting the participating galleries. This year, the guide texts are written by Xavier Acarín (independent curator, professor at EINA and PhD student at Goldsmiths, University of London), David Armengol (independent curator and director of La Capella), Cèlia del Diego (independent curator and head of Institutional Relations at MACBA), Carles Guerra (researcher, independent curator, associate professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and member of the Collège Photographie et images animées and CNAP, France), Sofia Lemos (independent curator and writer), Patricia Sorroche (curator and head of exhibitions at the Museu Tàpies) and Linda Valdés (curator, teacher and researcher). The curators will thus provide another perspective from which to visit the BGW2024 exhibitions, a guide to walking through the city by visiting the galleries. The seven itineraries are available on the BGW website.
