CHATO (‘Said of a nose: Not very prominent and kind of flattened’), as his father calls him, is a journey through different musical styles ranging from British-influenced rock, soul-scratching ballads, trap or pop. Composed of twelve songs, in which Gabriel shows us the different personalities that make up Barry B, demonstrating with ‘CHATO’ that Barry B’s universe is not limited to a single genre, but that he can embrace them all without renouncing his essence and all the imaginary that he carries within.
We already know songs like ‘Joga Bonito’, ‘Yo Pensaba Que Me Había Tocado Dios’ with Carolina Durante and ‘El Lago de mi Pena’ with his great collaborator Gara Durán. To these songs, which have already captivated his fans and opened up to new audiences, are added songs like ‘Vis a Vis’, one of the most luminous songs on ‘CHATO’, in which we hear Barry B at his most in love, wrapped in synthesizers and a beat that sounds like a beating heart.
This album, full of elaborate compositions, full of messages based on his experiences, is much more than music. Produced by Barry B himself with Tuiste and Mayo, DRUMMIE, Sam Gold, Nusar3000 and Roy Borland.
Barry B doesn’t stop making his figure on the scene bigger with every track he releases, now with ‘CHATO’ he continues to show who is going to be the new leader of national pop/rock and there is no one who can stand up to him. Barry B innovates with each track and with them he has built an album that will mark a before and after in the Spanish music scene.
