We could synthesise the category of the ‘STARCHASER‘ collection between fantasy and space extravaganzza, as a synergistic out-of-orbit concept posed by its creative director Anthony Alvarez as a dissident fashion profile.
For the FW24 season, Bluemarble presented on the runway a different facet of American history inspired by space exploration in connection with a series of satellite dishes, monitors and screens that just emphasised the visual narrative of its cosmic rave.
On them, images of Earth were projected from space, signalling the beginning of our intergalactic journey. “Mankind’s Great Leap: A testament to exploration and ingenuity, this lunar plaque, inspired by the historic Apollo 11 mission, captures the spirit of discovery that propelled us to the Moon on 20 July 1969. It stands as a beacon of human achievement, forever etched on the cosmic canvas, inviting contemplation of the limitless possibilities of our collective journey into the unknown,” the Parisian brand said online as a thematic preview of the show.
FROM STREET TO SPACE
Beyond the set design, if we take a closer look at the collection itself, we can see how it is designed to be worn both on the street and in space, with pieces such as classic sartorial coats in turquoise tones, embroidered jeans and leopard print boots with thick soles, evoking the proportional exaggeration of space boots. All of this is coupled with more ‘down to earth’ designs inspired by skateboarding and surfing, once again reinterpreting his signature motifs.
Meanwhile, BLUEMARBLE presented beige short-sleeved shirts layered over long-sleeved T-shirts underneath and double-knee jeans with iridescent gold and silver panels, in sync with skateboarding and interplanetary travel influences. Gold and silver jackets finished off the runway, reflecting the rugged metallic tones of spaceships.
