Blumarine SS26: dark romanticism as a contemporary uniform

Dark romanticism becomes a statement: a mental twilight that vibrates between the ethereal and the devastating. For Spring-Summer 2026, Blumarine immerses itself in a pop fantasy tinged with gothic literature and poisoned love stories. David Koma projects nocturnal magnetism within the house’s romantic DNA, deploying a play of opposites where the emblematic butterfly intertwines with the seasonal dragonfly: symbols that mutate in techniques, textures, and contrasts. The result: sweetness that darkens, darkness that becomes addictively sweet.

Floured georgette dresses expand into dramatic volumes, while butterfly embroidery on satin tears with raw finishes that hint at destruction and rebirth. Stretch tulle, embroidered and stretched, becomes a sensual cobweb; fluid blouses recall wings unfurling between the fragile and the monstrous. The butterfly print is distorted, camouflaging itself as leopard prints or infiltrating plumeti tulle dresses with macramé appliqués: a visual metamorphosis in its purest form.

The textile drama rises in tiered taffeta skirts with butterflies floating like toxic smoke. Contrast shines in knit tops with gathered sleeves and 3D crystallized sequin appliqués. The insect reigns supreme: in multicolored embroidery, in georgette minidresses, in thorns embroidered on a floor-length black dress, in asymmetrical jackets that simulate wings in flight. Even tailoring is infected: tight-fitting trousers reveal hidden lace; canvas cargo pants with shearling collars recast the utilitarian attitude in a Gothic key, between shades of washed pink and sage green.

Like a true Koma-move, the hardware bursts in and disrupts the fluidity. XL crosses encrusted with fake crystals become weaponized jewelry: necklaces, chokers, earrings, and body chains with insects gleaming like dark totems. Metallic bras function as minimal armor, with dragonflies dangling from shiny breastplates. The metal, parallel to leather, extends to hammered bracelets and industrial cuffs. Even sunglasses with butterfly lenses come loaded with studs and crosses dangling from the bridge.

Accessories expand the narrative: the perforated canvas messenger bag is decorated with insect charms, while leather backpacks are molded into butterfly shapes. The iconic half-moon bag, debuted at Resort 2026, reappears in leather with wing cutouts or shearling trim. On the feet: polished satin stilettos studded with crystal insects; knee-high boots with stitching evoking the silhouette of a classic pump; and shearling-lined kitten boots in a mix of the wicked and the naive.
