The Italian fashion house opens its own fashion design academy to train aspiring designers and creatives at an artisanal level within the industry.
Split between Bottega Veneta‘s new headquarters in Povolaro Dueville and the atelier in Montebello Vicentino, the Accademia Labor et Ingenium aims to promote craftsmanship and creativity through a programme aimed at 50 students a year. Workshops, courses and independent activities will be taught by five master craftsmen who will lead practical projects with an emphasis on the Italian design tradition.
Lasting seven weeks and in collaboration with the Università Iuav of Venice, the Accademia Labor et Igenium will also offer a programme focused on digital and studio-based learning techniques. The start of classes began yesterday.
“The Accademia Labor et Ingenium is a key strategic pillar in preserving Bottega Veneta’s unique savoir-faire. Exceptional craftsmanship and creativity are essential to our brand and to the heritage of our region of origin, Veneto. With the Accademia, we take the collective ethos at the heart of Bottega Veneta to a new level, building on our rich history of skill-sharing and innovation to nurture the artisans of the future” assures Leo Rongone.
