Bottega Veneta lands in Miami with an exclusive art installation

Bottega Veneta arrives in Miami with an ephemeral art installation recreating the location of its Summer 23 fashion show.

Architect, artist and designer Gaetano Pesce has been given creative carte blanche to produce an ephemeral art installation that recreates the location of Bottega Veneta’s Summer 23 fashion show.

The installation will be commissioned by the fashion house’s creative director, Matthieu Blazy, and is an unprecedented event. The space includes a spectacular moulded resin floor and 400 brightly coloured chairs, also made of resin.

On the occasion of Design Miami (30 November to 4 December 2022) the collection continues with an exhibition located at this year’s art fair venue and consisting of a selection of Come Stai? chairs also available for sale.

Come Stai? also emerges as a new book commissioned by Bottega Veneta, Gaetano Pesce and Matthieu Blazy. Including a significant interview between Pesce and Hans Ulrich Obrist, this limited edition book explores the creative idea, its execution and the process of the joint collaboration; unveiling the multiple connections between Pesce and Blazy related to their own creative practices and values.

Contributors Matthieu and Maria Cristina Didero document the origins of the project and situate it within a broader approach to the work of Gaetano Pesce; while numerous photographs by Stephen Shore and Sander Muylaert illustrate the process of production and development of the chairs. The book is also a Come Stai? design in itself, as the shape of the volume resembles that of the chairs. Moreover, its cover is inspired by the same materials. Just like Come Stai? each cover of the book is unique.

A book signing will be held at the art installation itself (153 NE 40th St., 33137, Miami, FL.) on 30 November, from 4 to 6 pm.
