C.P. Company and Palace join forces for a second time

A year ago Palace and C.P Company surprised the world with their first collaboration, a fusion of the Italian brand’s utilitarian design expertise with London’s skate aesthetic. Now, the two come together in a new release that celebrates contemporary streetwear silhouettes.

Palace has taken some of C.P. Company’s iconic shapes and fabrics, resulting in a collection that combines technical know-how with an experimental aesthetic and a meticulous focus on detail.

The goggle jacket, with its detachable fleece lining, is made from Kan-D, a monofilament nylon so named for its resemblance to the cellophane candy wrappers of the 1950s and 1960s, with an extremely transparent texture and shiny surface. The transparency of the fabric highlights the PALACE COMPANY logo printed on the back, the front branding and all flap pockets.

The Goggle model itself has been recreated in a bright orange lined silhouette, thanks to the use of Flatt Nylon, a brushed nylon that provides a softer fabric and a matte finish. The jacket features a concealed, removable face mask. Meanwhile, the Explorer jacket, another icon in the C.P. Company catalogue, has been reproduced in D.D. Shell Rip-Stop, a thinner uncoated nylon that, combined with the direct feather injection process, gives the garments a softer feel and a more nuanced light/dark effect.

Experimentation is even more evident in the accessories. There is a transformable Nylon B shoulder bag that can be used as a backpack or shoulder bag with adjustable straps and buckles. The series also includes a beanie with glasses and a straight visor, a down-filled D.D. Shell scarf and a baseball cap with flaps and lenses, which cannot be missing from the C.P. Company imaginary.

The second chapter of the collaboration also includes a variety of everyday apparel, including Flatt Nylon cargo trousers, a cotton fleece hoodie, a short-sleeved T-shirt with the distinctive graphics of both brands, and a lambswool turtleneck jumper.

To mark the launch, Palace has worked on a campaign that is a love letter to C.P. Company’s rich heritage and the great beauty of Northern Italy. Directed by Michael J. Fox and Stuart Hammond, the film features Palace skate team members Lucien Clarke, Rory Milanes, Danny Brady and artist Andrea Renzini, Massimo Osti’s 80s muse.

The collaboration will be available from 8 December in Palace shops and online at palaceskateboards.com, as well as exclusively at C.P. Company’s flagship shop in Milan and online at cpcompany.com.
