Camila Cabello, who left the group at the end of 2016, was quick to react. The singer, now 28, left four red hearts on Fifth Harmony’s official Instagram account. This gesture received more than 54,000 likes and thousands of responses.

The surprise appearance took place last Sunday, during the Jonas Brothers’ Greetings from Your Hometown tour. Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane, Normani Kordei and Ally Brooke went on stage to perform “Worth It” and “Work From Home”. Cabello was not present: that same weekend she was giving a show in Sydney as part of her Yours, C Tour.

In the post that accompanied the reunion, the group wrote: “Where were you on 31 August 2025? Thank you @jonasbrothers for inviting us. It was incredible to be back.”

Rumours of a comeback have been circulating for months, although several sources indicate that the plans do not include Cabello. Even so, this mini live comeback reignited the nostalgia. Fifth Harmony was formed in 2012 on The X Factor USA and soon established itself as one of the most powerful girl groups of the decade. Their legacy includes multi-platinum albums Reflection and 7/27.

After Cabello’s departure, the group released a self-titled album in 2017 with tracks such as “Down” featuring Gucci Mane, “Angel” and “He Like That”. A year later they announced an indefinite hiatus, which allowed each member to focus on her solo career.

Camila, meanwhile, achieved global success with hits such as “Havana” with Young Thug, “Señorita” with Shawn Mendes and “My Oh My” with DaBaby. Normani also made her mark with “Motivation”, “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B and “Love Lies” with Khalid. In 2024, she released her long-awaited debut album Dopamine.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new phase of Fifth Harmony is set for 2026. The plans include a tour and a documentary to celebrate the tenth anniversary of 7/27 and of “Work From Home”, probably their most recognisable anthem.
