Camper launches its new detachable silhouette “ROKU”

ROKU – Japanese for “six” – is a revolutionary concept with a sustainable spirit, connected to the brand’s iconic Wabi model, and reinvented with a contemporary look. Modular and ergonomic, the shoe is inspired by the organic and functional forms of traditional Japanese objects.

Six detachable and interchangeable parts make up ROKU: padded insole, knitted upper, 3D sock, laces and lightweight sole made of XL EXTRALIGHT® SUSTAINABLE+, a material made from 51% recovered industrial by-products, in order to reduce waste. The elements are sold assembled as a shoe, or separately in different packs, giving you the possibility to build your own unique model.

Developed over two years, ROKU embodies one of the most ambitious and inventive ideas in Camper’s history. “We wanted to create a shoe that every Camper fan could enjoy in their own way,” explains the Camper design team. “It’s a complex concept to develop, but a simple shoe to manufacture.”

ROKU’s design is based on a minimal selection of recycled and reused ingredients, and an innovative one-piece knit technology that reduces CO2 emissions and contributes to Camper’s zero waste goal. By dispensing entirely with glues, the shoe is easily disassembled, repaired and recycled throughout its lifetime, creating a product without limits.

This season, ROKU comes in a selection of colours including white, black, khaki and bright red. Purchased in its unassembled form, the different parts of the shoe can be assembled, customised and reassembled to create up to 64 looks and colour combinations.

ROKU will be launched in advance exclusively online between 1 and 5 March, and will be available in selected Camper shops, multi-brand shops and on camper.com from 6 March.
