Can we confirm that coloured tights will be a trend this autumn?

The colourful tights of the 70s are back this season to become a new object of desire.

Can we confirm that coloured tights will be a trend this autumn?

Gone are the days of black tights, this season we have an it accessory in the collective imagination. From aubergine purple to cognac brown, cherry red to bottle green, coloured tights are back for good this season.

Their birth dates back to 1938, however, they did not become part of women’s everyday life until 1953, with the invention of lycra, which made them elastic. In the 1960s, designer Mary Quant introduced her mini-skirt, which was an immediate success and encouraged women to show off their legs in their everyday lives.

Seen in recent years, this season they have been consolidated thanks to the different bets made by fashion houses. Coloured tights have come to the forefront of the fashion scene thanks to the no-pants trend that started with Miu Miu FW23-24, the colourblock aesthetic and officewear.

The Italian brand is not the only one that has wanted to give its version of this accessory that has become the new object of desire. Jacquemus opted for bright red tights in its latest fashion show, Atlein played with hiding and revealing them, while Gucci went all out with this trend, flooding the catwalk with colours.

In case you haven’t seen the show yet…. Jacquemus presented ‘Le ChouChou’ at Versailles.
