Casablanca’s FW24 campaign: an ode to Ancient Greece

Casablanca continues to sharpen the vision of its creative director, Charaf Tajer, with a mise-en-scène that fuses Greek antiquity with our present. The video, under the direction of Frédéric de Pontcharra, takes the viewer on a journey that intertwines the epic of Homer with the futuristic cinematography of Kubrick, creating a visual odyssey that defies the barriers of time.

The mystical aura of the video takes inspiration from Eleusis, the enigmatic sanctuary that attracted ancient Greek philosophers and playwrights. The models, evoking the majesty of Olympian gods and heroes, move between Athenian avenues, temple staircases, meandering clouds and moving galaxies. This journey is a reflection of the spiritual transformations that took place in the ancient Eleusinian mysteries.

The soundtrack, a tribute to iconic 90s videos, resonates with the essence of Björk’s “Venus as a Boy”, the centrepiece of this collection. Tajer confesses: “Björk’s lyrics have always resonated with me. Her message echoes my constant search for beauty and curiosity”. The FW24 collection unfolds as a kaleidoscope of intense hues, where structured silhouettes coexist with elements that seem to float.

Standout pieces include gradient coats in celestial hues, turtleneck tops with marbled patterns, and varsity jackets adorned with angels. A palette of blues, greens and metallics infuses the collection with an almost celestial aesthetic, while structured tracksuits and translucent tennis apparel pay homage to the brand’s sporty roots, elevating them to a new level of sophistication.
