In a 2023 interview with ET Canada, Sam Smith revealed that he hasn’t had much luck with dating apps. ‘I did Tinder once; I think I got kicked off Tinder. I got kicked off Hinge because they thought I wasn’t me.’ They admitted that they didn’t verify their accounts, something that has become essential in the age of the Tinder scammer and other sexploitation debacles.

While verifying your account may seem obvious, many admitted that they simply forgot. ‘I should have,’ confirmed Sam Smith. As it turns out, Smith isn’t the only celebrity to be kicked off dating apps. During a recent discussion, former One Direction star Zayn Malik revealed that he’s also been kicked off a dating app – ahem, Tinder.
