Hedi Slimane is a passionate romantic, a devotee of nostalgia, and a meticulous student of art. His approach to the design of CELINE HOMME collections is governed by a strict set of rules. The House presented its highly anticipated winter 2023 collection for men entitled “PARIS SYNDROME” at the iconic French nightclub Le Palace.
CELINE HOMME took Paris by storm with a collection championing the return of indie sleaze. Attendees included The Murder House band from The Libertines, Pete Doherty, Lisa from BLACKPINK, Wiz Khalifa and Camille Razat from Emily in Paris.
The performance began with a light show that unfolded on stage to the beat of an extended version of Suicide’s “Girl.” Energetic synthesizers and erotic moans created an atmosphere that anticipated one of CELINE HOMME’s most seductive collections to date.
Slimane kicked off with a classic look of skin-tight leather pants and a leather biker jacket adorned with studs. He followed with an explosive version of the same garment in which the studs took on a larger size and were scattered across another leather ensemble, paired with black sunglasses, Cuban-heeled boots and the brand’s “Nightclubbing” perfume.
We saw on the catwalk leather jackets with western-style bangs, stud-embellished blouses, leopard prints, sneakers and sheer fabrics. All these elements were followed by the introduction of authentic indie identities, which really caught the eye in the collection.
The looks were inspired by the closets of the indie musicians of the 2000s: T-shirts that left the waist exposed, classic CELINE HOMME suits tight to the body and flared pants.
