Brat summer isn’t over. Charli XCX keeps it alive with a new collaboration with Converse. This partnership hands over creative control to her fans or, as she calls them, her Angels. Titled Custom Chuck Taylor All Star Charli XCX By You, the unisex trainer is part of Converse’s “By You” customisation platform.
Rather than offering a fixed design, this drop centres around personalisation. Users can choose from five base colours: Black, White, Brown Rice, Winter Sky and Bridal Rose. For then add a range of details inspired by the Brat aesthetic. Standout features include distressed effects, with printed rips, faded discolouration and laces that look like they’ve been through multiple tours.
Customisation extends to the heel plates and interchangeable patches, with direct references to lyrics and phrases like “XCX,” “365,” “Angel,” and “Party Girl.” Fans can also choose hidden sole graphics featuring brat or Party Girl — subtle touches for those fluent in Charli’s world. The design is finished with lock-and-key charms engraved with “Brat,” nodding to “Unlock It,” and lime green insoles, a reference to one of her signature colours.
The result is a Chuck Taylor that translates the Brat language into footwear. Charlie XCX sneakers will be available for just three days, from 5 to 7 August, exclusively on Converse’s official website, priced at $100 USD.
