Cherry Coke: the hair colour that has gone viral on TikTok

We tell you all about the hair colour that’s going viral on TikTok: it’s the 2000s-inspired ‘cherry coke’ shade.

A few seasons ago we anticipated that copper colours would dominate the hair colour trends of 2023. Now, TikTok has shown us that “Cherry Coke”, also known as “black cherry”, is one of the candidates to take the season by storm. Although the social network has been full of girls with this hair colour, the “Cherry Coke” shade has been around since the 90s.

Cherry Coke hair is a black-based dye with red, burgundy and purple undertones reminiscent of the colours found on Coca-Cola bottles and cans. Copper and ginger reds dominated the red carpets this past year. So it makes sense that a more intense shade is trending as we prepare for the winter-spring transition.
