The London-based label presents the it-book of the summer titled ‘Conversations With Angels‘, based on a modern fairy tale in which the designers portray their disruptive vision in a meaningful way.
Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena now dive into the depths of the publishing world to become publishers with the launch of this book that reflects an updated version of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale ‘The Snow Queen’ by artist and poet Precious Okoyomon. And who better than Chlöe Sevigny to play the leading role of the queen in this iconic story captured by Charlotte Wales?
Throughout the pages of the book we can see portrayed a series of sequences in which the characters that inhabit the surreal story wear the brand’s AW23 looks, which in turn serve as a backdrop for ‘Conversations With Angels’.
The book, as a resplendent exhibition of Lowena’s fantastic designs, thus commemorates its fall-winter 2023 collection, starring Sevigny alongside a cast of boys, with which they configure a new project that moves away from the classic runway presentation or the canonical lookbook to bring another narrative dimension to their identity, and to fashion.
In this new literary project we can find immortalized ten photographs of Sevigny in which she sports an imposing black eyeliner, as well as Chopova’s iconic pleated skirt. On other pages, the foreground shimmers and blurs, making Sevigny stand out in a buttoned-up grunge vest and long, pointed acrylic nails, all the while maintaining an exaggerated theatrical pose and a cool gaze that transcends the paper.
Chopova Lowena‘s updated fairy tale, written by Precious Okoyomon and captured by Charlotte Wales, is now available on the website of the brand that has upset the fashion system through its punk irreverence.
