Christopher Kane took inspiration from Tokyo’s dark side in his Resort 2019 collection: neon signs, textures and silhouettes inspired by the city’s sex cubs.
Now through the lookbook, photographed by Laurence Ellis, we enter fully into that dark world in which the red lace dress or the matching coat, among other pieces, work as a nexus.
The whole proposal has a certain gothic air, like the transparent black dress with layers that rests on a bright purple bra. However, there is also space in the collection for certain soft and less aggressive textures such as the two-tone hood with “More Baby More” written in iridescent letters on the front and a long, wavy white shirt proclaiming the universal truth: “Sh** Happens“.
