The Barcelona duo formed by Jordi (JP Sunshine) and Guillem (Guim), two well-known DJs on the Barcelona scene and members of the Mainline collective, have released a new single, Chesterfield, the first preview of what will be their second album.
The first time we heard “Chesterfield” live, it was clear. It was no secret, it was clear to the three hundred people in the room who sang its chorus without ever having heard it before: this was a special song. Since then, the effect has been repeated in different cities like a kindly virus in which romanticism and tobacco flavour go hand in hand.
“Chesterfield” is a hymn to the uncertainty of the early days, when anything is a sign of something and everything is one big refrain that repeats in your head and in your belly. “Even if it tastes like a cigarette / it might be nice,” they sing, and you almost taste it like a Pavlov’s dog in questionable health.
