Clarks and NEEDLES team up to reinvent one of the British brand’s most iconic silhouettes: the Wallabee. This meeting of two worlds, British and Japanese, results in a hybrid version that fuses the original essence of the iconic boot with the unique experimentation that characterises Keizo Shimizu’s designs.
In total, six versions of the Wallabee will be launched, available in three heights: low, mid and boot, and two colour combinations, cream and black. The upper retains its suede design, but introduces distinctive details that mark the collaboration, such as the embossed NEEDLES butterfly logo on the heel and an adjustable strap with a buckle bearing a distorted peace symbol. The highlight, however, is found on the sole, which moves away from Clarks’ traditional smooth rubber in favour of a more robust design.
This launch adds to Clarks’ strategy of updating its classics, a trend we also saw in its collaboration with Bodega, at a key moment in fashion that embraces the fusion of technical and formal.
Pokémon and Clarks Originals reissue the Torhill silhouette.
