Courrèges SS24 literally breaks with the status quo

Sixty years after the designs of the late André Courrèges revolutionised the fashion world, Nicolas Di Felice, the brand’s new creative director, takes a new (literal) direction for Courrèges with the SS24 collection presented at PFW.

Nicolas Di Felice has updated the brand’s codes to become a favourite of celebrities such as Rosalia, Dua Lipa, Bad Gyal and the Hadid sisters. For Spring/Summer 2024, Courrèges built to then tear up the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week (literally). It all started with an invitation based on the concept of rupture that followed the show. Once inside, the concrete-clad floor cracked with every step the models took.

The collection was sensual and classic, dominated by black and white tones. Its futuristic design language was extended through semi-translucent chrome bras. Shorts and dresses were fused with leather garments imitating crocodile skin. Jackets came with a utilitarian touch through their metallic buckles. Accessories such as bags and jewellery were updated reissues from his archives.
