The imperfect reflections of the streets of Paris have inspired Nicolas Di Felice.
This season, Courrèges is freeing himself from the artifice of fashion sets to surrender to the gaze – and the lens – of his community. Moved by the selfie phenomenon and the hyper-connected visual universe of social networks, the creative director is handing over control to his muses: TOCCORORO, Elodie Guipaud, Axel Gay or Apolline Rocco Fohrer, among many others.
The result? A collection that unfolds in everyday scenarios, filtered through the spontaneity of the intimate, without filters and without forced poses. As for the garments, Di Felice completely eliminates the lines between functionality and form. The belt with a fabric-covered buckle – this season’s fetish element – is transformed into a collar, a strap, a graphic and technical resource. It appears on cropped tops, lycra trousers and sporty blouses as a fashion symbol in constant metamorphosis.
There is also no shortage of references to the archives, such as the 1964 cap sleeve, which reappears in floor-length polo dresses or reinterpreted on men’s T-shirts. The houndstooth tweed abandons classicism to embody an urban mini-skirt, while oversize football shirts merge with maxi-skirts, turning the Parisian tarmac into the real playing field.
The new Strip bag is one of the undisputed stars of this collection: its organic silhouette, clever construction and magnetic versatility make it a must-have.
