Crocs makes it clear it wants to play in another league with the launch of Ripple

Crocs presents Ripple, the model that shows where the brand’s design is headed now.

When Crocs decided to change the rules of the game for comfortable footwear, probably no one imagined that it would end up moving closer and closer to the sneaker universe. Now the brand is entering a new phase with Ripple, a silhouette that inaugurates its newly created creative innovation team. The project is led by veteran designer Steven Smith, who joined the company in November 2024 as Head of Creative Innovation. His mission is clear: to expand the brand’s design language and explore new possibilities within moulded footwear.

Ripple is the first real test of this new phase. The silhouette takes the classic Crocs concept into more futuristic territory, closer to the world of trainers, but without losing the practical comfort that has always defined the brand. Put simply, it is still a shoe designed for everyday wear, only now it has much more design intent. It is not a radical change, but it is a clear step towards something more interesting.

The Moonlight/Neon Ocean colourway mixes white with a bright blue reminiscent of water. The moulded foam upper is joined to a sole with pronounced waves that give the model a more striking look. It retains the classic Crocs ventilation holes to allow the foot to breathe, and the sculpted sole provides good grip for everyday wear.

The Swedish model also serves as a preview of what Crocs wants to do from now on. The brand has already confirmed that in the next 18 months we will see new colourways and variations of the model. The brand wants to show that its classic mould still has plenty of room to surprise.

A creative moment for the brand

The launch comes at a particularly creative time for Crocs. While Ripple opens up a new line of design, the brand continues to explore unexpected territories. A recent example is its collaboration with LEGO, which transformed the iconic clog into a piece inspired by the famous building blocks. This is a first step towards a stage in which Crocs seeks to redefine the potential of casual footwear.

Crocs Ripple shoes are available exclusively in Spain at SiVasDescalzo and Foot District for €109.90.
