Crystal Palace becomes first Premier League team to hire a creative director

Crystal Palace has made history by appointing Kenny Annan-Jonathan as creative director in the Premier League, becoming the first soccer club in the league to have a leader in charge of overseeing clothing collections and fashion collaborations.

Kenny Annan-Jonathan, born in South London, has extensive experience in the fashion and design world. In 2019, he founded his sports marketing agency called The MailRoom. Through this agency, he has worked with world-renowned brands and managed successful partnerships for prominent athletes such as Wilfried Zaha, Michail Antonio, Olympic bronze medalist boxer Joshua Buatsi and Team GB standout sprinter Daryll Neita.

As reported by Business of Fashion, Annan-Jonathan’s first project in her new role will be the launch of Crystal Palace’s Autumn/Winter 2023 collection. He also has ambitious plans to create products that go beyond typical sports team merchandise to broaden the club’s fan base.

Crystal Palace follows in the footsteps of other lesser-known teams, such as Parisian soccer club Red Star, which has reached a global audience through innovative collaborations and jersey creations under the creative direction of its former Manchester United player, David Bellion.

On the other hand, Vans pays tribute to Mac Miller with a sneaker collaboration.
