CUPRA presents the new CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA León

The carmaker yesterday unveiled the redesigned and improved CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon.

CUPRA presents the new CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA León

The new exterior features the CUPRA logo integrated into the bonnet, the bold and aggressive shark-nose front end with triangular matrix LED headlights, and the large, bold lower section. At the rear, the LED lighting technology is similarly triangular in design, but here the new CUPRA Leon adds a further distinctive touch with the CUPRA logo positioned centrally between the rear lights. The new Century Bronze Matte and Enceladus Grey Matte colours add even more character to both models.

The pure emotion of the exterior design of the new CUPRA Formentor is reflected in an interior that combines sportiness and sustainability with new digital technologies and a wide selection of materials. The cabin offers a higher quality ambience with redesigned elements such as the centre console and takes a more sustainable approach with the Bucket seats, which can be upholstered in sustainable microfibre (73% recycled and with progressive laser perforation) or environmentally friendly leather.

Digitalisation is focused on the driver. A new Human Machine Interface (HMI) is now part of the Digital Cockpit instrumentation behind the steering wheel, while the infotainment system adopts a larger 32.8 cm (12.9-inch) screen with a backlit slider. Both the new CUPRA Formentor and the new CUPRA Leon feature a new 12-speaker hi-fi audio system, developed in collaboration with premium audio firm Sennheiser Mobility. The system offers Sennheiser’s characteristic pure sound.

The mechanical range includes four different technologies: TSI (petrol), eTSI (mild hybrid), TDI (diesel) and a new generation of e-HYBRID (plug-in hybrid). The e-HYBRID range now offers up to 272 hp (200 kW), more than 100 kilometres of all-electric range and fast-charging compatibility (up to 50 kW DC). Available exclusively for the CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon Sportstourer, the new 333 hp (245 kW) TSI petrol engine is paired with Torque Splitter technology and Akebono brakes.

Cupra City Garage Madrid hosted the presentation of ‘HIGHTALKS’.
