Designer Daniel Chong and artist Okuda San Miguel exclusively unveiled their Black and White Rainbow capsule collection at Madrid es Moda, the alternative epicentre of Fashion Week. The venue: Factory of Dreams, a space in Usera that lived up to its name with an immersive experience where fashion, art and sustainability collided in a magical way.
Okuda, known for expanding colour to infinity, presented for the first time an almost secret facet: line drawings that dialogue with his already iconic multicoloured geometry. From this union, a new, more intimate but equally powerful imaginary world was born, which found in Chong the perfect ally to give it shape. The designer—true to his vibrant language and vision of conscious fashion—elevated his timeless accessories to pieces that function as ready-to-wear sculptures.
During the event, the capsule collection was available exclusively and for immediate sale: a luxury reserved only for those who were part of the launch. Each bag, each accessory, became a portable work of art where Okuda’s creativity and Chong’s sensibility intertwined seamlessly.
‘We wanted art to not only be looked at, but also experienced, to accompany people in their daily lives,’ confessed Chong. And they succeeded: the proposal is an organic synthesis of aesthetics, concept and functionality.
The premiere brought together renowned figures from Madrid’s cultural and political scene — from Cayetana Guillén Cuervo to Pepón Nieto, Carlos Segura and Pepa Bueno — all witnesses to a launch that marks a turning point in the intersection between fashion and contemporary art.
