Former footballer David Beckham has worn different haircuts throughout his career. We take a look back at all his looks from the 90s to the present day.
Following the release of the Beckham documentary, it has been almost impossible to avoid the media frenzy that has plagued the former England footballer ever since. The documentary, which landed on Netflix in early October and is proving to be a huge success, is a series that delves into his personal life, his professional career, his looks and styles and his marriage to Victoria (also known as “Posh Spice”). Throughout the last decade, his style of dress and hairstyle has been imitated from one end of the world to the other. He has changed football kits on numerous occasions, but if there is one thing that has changed continuously about David Beckham, it has been his hair. Shaved, with braids, a mane, a Mohawk, a toupee… Beckham has dared absolutely everything, becoming a style icon.
If we try to group it by periods, in 1997, when he started to become popular, the ex-footballer wore his hair half back or parted in the middle; two years later he cut his hair short, got fringes and blond highlights; in 2000 he shaved his hair; a year later he got a Mohawk; in 2002 he wore the mythical spiked hair (very Y2K); in 2003 the spiked hair invaded all his hair: in 2003 she left her hair long with a parting in the middle; she also opted for a mullet, cornrows, dark hair, a headband, pirris and ponytails; in 2005 she cut her hair; in 2007 she went toupée; in 2007 she dyed her hair platinum blonde and then shaved it off again; in 2009 she cut her hair again and from then on she started to wear different gelled and toupée hairstyles that remind us of the hipster aesthetic.
