Until 31 August 2025.
‘Do remember they can’t cancel spring’. With this phrase, the British artist welcomes what is already considered one of the most important artistic milestones of the year. The Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris is giving all its space – yes, all its rooms – to David Hockney, offering a monumental, intimate and profoundly vibrant exhibition that spans seven decades of exhaustive work.
From 9 April until 31 August 2025, ‘David Hockney, 25’ will display more than 400 works to trace a visual map of his creative universe, always on the move, always ahead of its time.
The exhibition is much more than a chronological tour: it is a full-fledged sensorial immersion. Oil paintings, acrylics, charcoals, ink, digital art made on iPad and iPhone, video installations, theatrical set designs and even a dance hall. It is all part of an emotional journey where each room has been personally designed by Hockney himself and his team. Together they have managed to create a narrative where each stage of life and art has its own rhythm, colour and heartbeat.
From his iconic Californian swimming pools – A Bigger Splash, Portrait of an Artist – to the winter landscapes of Yorkshire or the cherry blossoms of Normandy, the exhibition is a showcase of how to look, how to inhabit time and how to (re)construct beauty even on the darkest of days.
