Desigual welcomes Hed Mayner as designer to create brand’s first 100% genderless collection

Desigual presents its first collection with designer Hed Mayner, in charge of creating this 12-piece capsule for the brand. The team behind the collaboration has assigned creative names to each garment to highlight its unique characteristics. From the “extra-bold overall kimono” to the “not-mismatched jacket and pants,” each name reflects the uniqueness and experimentation of the collection. Pieces such as the “24/7-365 tote-bag” stand out for their versatility, the “2-in-1 double-sided officer crossed-shirt” that can be worn in multiple ways, and the “shape-shifting jumper” that adjusts at the waist according to preferred style.

Even the basics are given evocative names that reveal the construction and concept behind each. From the “definitive canvas pants” to the “so-not-obvious ruby t-shirt” and the “more-than-than-a-coat uniform coat,” each garment tells a unique story.

The collection also includes a pair of shoes, the “so-called elegantly eco leather shoes,” available upon request. The attention to detail and customizability of the footwear reinforce the capsule’s philosophy: fashion not just as clothing, but as a unique expression of individuality.
