The outfit consisting of corduroy trousers, braces, a long-sleeved button-down shirt and a waistcoat was auctioned for 100,000 – 200,000 pounds (i.e. more than 230,000 euros).
They say that love is priceless, but when it comes to passion for fashion and cinema, things change. And the costumes that have appeared in the most iconic films cause a real furore, breaking records with the price they reach in auctions. The latest to go on sale is the suit worn by Leonardo DiCaprio in the film Titanic as Jack Dawson.
The outfit consisting of corduroy trousers, braces, a long-sleeved button-down shirt and a waistcoat is being auctioned for $100,000 – $200,000. The garments include personalised labels reading “MR: LEONARDO DICAPRIO” and “DATE: AUGUST ’96”. The suit is part of Propstore’s upcoming auction in London, where it is expected to fetch $13.8 million for classic film pieces.
Other iconic movie items to be sold at this auction include C-3PO head from “Star Wars: A New Hope”; Michael Keaton’s bat suit from 1989’s “Batman”; Jack Sparrow’s suit from “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”; Tom Hanks’ slippers from “Forrest Gump” and a Captain America shield from “Captain America: The First Avenger”.
The auction is scheduled for 9-12 November at Prop Store London.
The microphone that Cardi B threw into the audience at a concert is being auctioned for charity.
