Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs now knows his potential release date — provided that Donald Trump does not grant him a presidential pardon beforehand. According to online records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), his 50-month sentence for violating the Mann Act is set to end on 8 May 2028.
In July 2025, Diddy was convicted on two counts of “transportation for the purpose of prostitution” under the Mann Act. The jury acquitted him of the more serious charges of human trafficking and conspiracy. Although the law allowed for a maximum sentence of up to 20 years, federal guidelines recommended a significantly shorter term.
The release date could change if he qualifies for sentence reductions due to good behaviour or other early-release mechanisms. However, one factor could alter the situation entirely: former President Trump admitted that Diddy had asked him for a pardon. “I call him Puff Daddy, he has asked me for a pardon,” Trump said. Even so, the White House denied that commuting his sentence was under consideration.
